QC Charge Coolant Delete Manifold

The QC Charge Coolant Delete prevents inevitable damage to Tesla Large Drive Units (“LDU”, formerly the “570A” motor) caused by leaking rotor seals found in the Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X, Toyota Rav4 EV, and Mercedes B-Class.

This common failure allows coolant to enter the rotor, which can short-circuit the stator (field windings), cause the rotor to seize and rust, and completely destroy the inverter electronics.

After rebuilding hundreds of Tesla Large Drive Units, QC Charge developed the Coolant Delete to permanently eliminate this failure mode. The system works on the same principle Tesla later adopted to address this issue in newer LDUs.

Importantly, all QC Charge Coolant Delete configurations preserve the factory coolant pathway to ensure proper cooling of the gear set and inverter chiller plates, something many competing solutions do not retain.

Available Options

Coolant Delete Lite

  • Removes coolant flow to the rotor entirely

  • Prevents coolant-related rotor seal failure and associated damage

  • Maintains cooling to the gear set and inverter via the factory coolant loop

  • Ideal for standard applications seeking maximum reliability with minimal complexity

Coolant Delete Performance (Oil-Capable)

  • Includes all functionality of the Lite version (no coolant to rotor)

  • Adds the ability to run oil cooling in the rotor (optional)

  • Supports use of Dexron VI or 212B gearbox oil for rotor cooling (additional parts required)

  • In the event of a seal leak, oil will not damage the stator, rotor, or inverter

  • Designed for high-performance or demanding LDU applications

Both options permanently eliminate the root cause of LDU failure while maintaining proper cooling where it’s needed most.
